The Art of Dressing on the Upper West Side

Stepping inside this Upper West Side apartment feels like a magical dressup world. There’s a bright red wall backdrop in one room, and pink striped walls in the other, canvases for memories, art and treasures. Fashion icon Tziporah Salamon has lived here in this apartment since 1982. On assignment for a german publication, I shot a series of portraits amongst her treasures before venturing out into the streets.
As a former muse of Bill Cunningham’s, Tziporah has an energy no less than legendary. Where ever we go people smile, or stop to chat. She’s a true attest to dressing creatively, individually, and the joy it brings in doing so. Style has no boundaries, and certainly no age.
